The Modern Hiker

There has been a bit of a resurgence in hiking boots over the past year of two. Aside from being practical for extreme use, i don't find them to translate as well to streetwear, compared to something like the Red Wing Irish Setter Boot.

I came across the Frye Rogan Hiker the other day, and it really sold me for the first time on wearing hikers. The boot is a little more streamlined than many of its counterparts, and the leather is just begging to be oiled up and beat to crap. These will definately be in my winter line-up. Great alternative to those (including myself), who feel that the Red Wings, while timeless, have become a bit too over-marketed.
